Delete Account & Data Policy
At RentEasy, we value your privacy and provide users with the right to request deletion of their account and personal data at any time.
This document explains how you can request deletion and what happens afterward.
🔐 1. How to Request Account Deletion
If you would like to permanently delete your account and all related data, please contact us by email.
We currently do not offer in-app deletion, but our team will manually process your request.
Steps to Request Deletion
- Send an email to: 📧 support@digitaldive.net
- Use the subject: Account Deletion Request
- Include the following details:
- The email address or username used in the app
- A short message such as: “I want to delete my account and all my data from RentEasy.”
Once we verify your request, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 15-30business days.
A confirmation email will be sent once the process is complete.
🗑️ 2. What Data Will Be Deleted
When we process your deletion request, the following types of data will be removed:
- User profile information (name, email, profile photo, etc.)
- Authentication credentials (Firebase Auth)
- Uploaded files, images, or documents stored in Firebase Storage
- Any personalized app data stored in Firestore or Realtime Database
All user-related data will be permanently deleted from our active servers and scheduled backups.
📁 3. Data Retention
For security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes, some minimal records (such as transaction or audit logs) may be retained for up to 30 days before being permanently erased.
No personal or identifiable user data will be accessible after this period.
⚙️ 4. Third-Party Services
Our app uses the following Firebase services:
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Cloud Firestore
- Firebase Cloud Storage
- Firebase Cloud Messaging
When your account is deleted, data stored in these services under your user ID will also be deleted.
However, Firebase may retain certain metadata as required by Google’s privacy policies.
